A Streetcar Named Desire (8)

Tonight, I have finished reading scene 5 of streetcar. In this scene it starts out with Eunice and Steve getting into a little fight, and Stella, Blanche, and Stanley all treat it lightly because they know it won't last long. Blanche is getting more and more nervous and reckless. Stanley has apparently heard some gossip about Blanche, but she denies it, but from the way she acts it's definitely true. Then Blanche gets a bit insecure and starts grinding Stella if she had heard anything bad about her, and that leads into Blanche admitting that she wants to be with Mitch, but she has the idea that he wouldn't want her if he knew her real age or something like that. Eventually Eunice and Steve come back together with everything alright and then Stella and Stanley leave. Blanche is left alone and a young man collecting money for the newspaper comes in. Its obvious that she is attracted to him by the way she keeps making excuses for him to stay and then kisses him! But she then she gets rid of him. So it was a bit pointless but probably just for her entertainment. And then Mitch comes in and the scene ends. I'll keep reading.
