The House of Bernarda Alba (4)

Tonight I started reading Act 2. I feel a little happy for Angustias and I think the other sisters are just jealous and are trying to make her feel bad. I was so surprised about Adela! I can't believe that she is in love with Pepe el Romano! And for Poncia to encourage her by telling her that her sister is gonna die while having her child is pretty harsh in my book. I don't know why they can't just be happy for their sister. I was surprised that Bernarda actually stood up for Angustias, which I thought was pretty nice. And I hope that Martirio was just playing a joke because that is the last thing that family needs; 3 sisters fighting over a man. Oh and I wonder why the women want to work in the fields so bad. Like they think it is hot in the house? Just wait until you get out there. haha. Also out of all the other men that come, they can't just pick one of those guys? Like seriously. Well I'll keep reading.

The House of Bernarda Alba (3)

Tonight, I finished reading Act 1. Bernarda really likes to have control over everything. She likes to keep her daughters locked up and keep them from marrying. But even some of the daughters don't even want to marry. It seems like everyone is kind of not looking forward to Pepe el Romano declaring marriage for Angustias. I'm a little confused on who she is. Like everyone is saying her father was somebody else and had a lot of money. So why is she involved with the family. I'm not sure... The servants are so nosey, like mind your own business. I was wondering if Bernarda's mother was as cruel as she was or if she is nicer and is just locked in that house. I think it's kind of creepy how they are all basically not allowed to leave that house or put on powder or anything. And I think Angustias had the right to make herself look nice and to want to go out. But at the same time I kind of like Bernarda. Like she's just so corrupt and I think that's hilarious. Poor Grandma though. Like everyone just grabbed her and like practically dragged her back to her room to be locked up. That's so mean. Well, I'll keep reading on.

The House Of Bernarda Alba (2)

Tonight, I continued reading this play. I'm a little confused about what is going on but I think I have the direction in which what is happening. So far, I figured out the husband of Bernarda has died. Bernarda doesn't really seem that affected in terms of being upset or sad or having grief. Poncia sounded a little betrayed when Bernarda reminded her that she was a slave and nothing more to her. Bernarda is really just a bitch, in my mind at least. I understand where she's coming from about staying locked up in the house and everything. It's how she was raised and what she was taught to believe. At that point you really can't do anything to change the person. But she is really mean to her daughters. She should at least lighten up on them. They need a little freedom to live. Well, I'll keep on reading tomorrow.

The House Of Bernarda Alba (1)

Tonight, I started reading The House of Bernarda Alba. So far it is a bit confusing, but understandable. I don't really know who Poncia is or what role she has but it sounds like shes been with Bernard for quite a long time now. And it doesn't sound like shes having too much fun. The servant ; I don't really know what his side of the story is, like he was saying how she was good to Poncia, but he sounded annoyed about how she ignores the servants or something. I wonder what all the people are coming over for, it might be the death of the husband but i'm not sure. I feel kind of bad for that beggar women and her little girl. Like he should have at least given her a little bit of food at least. Well I'll keep reading on tomorrow.

Pygmalion (7)

Tonight, I have started and finished reading Act4. Eliza seems really over worked. I feel really bad for her. I understand her point of view of how she doesn't know what to do. And I think she has a right to freak out on Higgins. I really wonder what is going through his head. He just seems like an insane person. Like he has a hard time understanding what people are saying to him. Especially Eliza; he should know her by now and the way she thinks. But I have to side with Higgins a little too because he does offer her all the clothes she has worn there, and even offered her the Florist shop and how Pickering would buy it for her. Or how he offered her to marry a guy that his mother could find. So he was a bit nice, but Eliza still deserves better than this, in my opinion. At least she got him in the end, which I don't really know why he was hurt at all. He really seems to not care besides those couple of offerings, so good for Eliza that she got some pain out of him. I wonder what will happen in the morning. I'll keep on reading.

Pygmalion (6) [Wednesday]

Tonight, I finished reading Act 3 of Pygmalion. I'm really starting to get into it. I think it's funny how Higgins and Pickering are all like oh it'll be fine afterwords, and everyone else is just freaking out. I kind of felt bad for Higgins when his mother was like she is not presentable at all, and you can't make her presentable. Poor Higgins, he got all sad after that. His mother makes me laugh too because she is just like I can't believe you are doing all this to that poor woman, and how horrible it is to let her live in your home. Well, I personally think that Higgins is doing a real nice thing, teaching her all these ways of language and even about music. So props to you Higgins! Pickering is still weird to me, like I don't know who he is or anything, like personality wise. Well, I'll keep on reading into Act 4.

Today

Pygmalion (5) [Tuesday]

Tonight, I started into Act 3 of Pygmalion. I'm guessing this is taking place a couple months later, after working with Eliza for a bit. So, Higgins is going to his mother's house to pretty much just show off Eliza and see if he did a good job, and if she can pull it off. What ends up happening instead of just Higgins's mother just being there, Pickering, Mrs. Eynsford Hill, Clara, and Freddy all show up unexpectadley. I could not really tell whether Higgins was nervous about it or not. I'm guessing he wasn't because he was just like yeah the more the better. Well, I pictured Eliza walking in and I'm guessing she was really done up. She obviously pulled off the beauty, but I'm not so sure about the language. She had gaps and they were saying it was just the new small talk, but it just seems shady, like Higgins couldn't get it out of her. Well, I think Freddy has a thing for Eliza because he was just totally hitting on her the whole time she was there. After she left, I could see that Mrs. Eynsford Hill didn't really seem to like her for some reason. But oh well. I'll just keep reading.

Pygmalion (4)

Tonight, I finished Act 2. Oh my goodness. Eliza's father is such a piece of work. Like he actually had the nerve to practically sell his daughter for money for beer. But, whatever, Higgins is so confusing, like I don't know what side hes on when hes talking with the father and then the daughter. It's like he knows how to handle the situation, but at the same time doesn't. haha. It really sounded like they cleaned Elize up well. She even looks Japanese! haha. Well, not much happened in the end so I'll just keep reading.

Pygmalion (3)

Tonight, I continued on with Act 2. Higgins has finally laid out what is gonna happen for the girl like hes some future teller. She doesn't seem to happy but not to against it. Higgins was right when he was saying how Mrs. Pierce thinks of him as this grown up chap that is bossy. Like he seems a little bossy but I can't really tell yet. So, Liza's dad comes into play in these next couple of pages. I don't really understand the reason for him being here, as he said he did not want to take her away. And he also brought her luggage for her. Also I can see that Higgins and Pickering are also confused, so it's not only me. It was kind of weird the way he found out that she was there, like talk about lucky. I wonder what she would think of her father being there. Would she want to go back with him? Or would she stay and practically hide from him again like the past two months? Oh well, I'll just have to read more to find out.

P.G. : 89

Pygmalion (2) [Tuesday]

Tonight, I started into Act 2. So far, it's really interesting. Like the way Higgins just treats and talks to women like they are nothing. Like in Act 1 he seemed to be nice, or thats the impression he gave off to me. Pickering seems like a nice guy, he at least, along with Mrs. Pierce defend poor Liza. Like Higgins really just talks about her as Mrs. Pierce said, a pebble off the ground. On the other hand, I think Liza is kind of stupid for not taking the offer. Like here she is, not having to pay a penny, and she is getting offered lessons, clothes, practically money. And she is just like no, I don't want to be treated like that. But oh well. There seems to be some tension between Higgins and Mrs. Pierce. Like shouldn't Mrs. Pierce be the like maid and do whatever Higgins wants? Instead of like constantly fighting with him. It's kind of funny how Pickering is just like I'll pay for her lessons because I don't think you can do it. Like yeah. That girl should just be happy she doesn't have to do anything. So I'll keep reading.

Pygmalion (1)

Tonight, I started and finished reading Act 1 of Pygmalion. Just to say this, I absolutely hate that flower girl. She is just freaking out on Higgins for like no reason even after he explains to everyone he is not the police or a detective or anything. I want to know what part Mrs. Eynsford Hill and Clara Eynsford Hill have in the play. I thought it was very odd how Higgins and Pickering just happen to be stuck in the same church, especially after hearing that Pickering was in India. Also, everyone seems very dainty, like why wouldn't anyone just suck it up and go out in the rain, it's not like it's gonna kill you or something. And it was really nice of Higgins to give that girl all that money even after she just kept causing problems. So, I think it's pretty awesome that he can do that thing with the languages! Like how could you not like that, like if he told me where I was from I think I would just have to give him a hug and tell him he's amazing. I like it so far and I want to know what they're gonna talk about over dinner.

P.G. :100

Today I deserve a 100 for participation because I followed directions and got out on stage as soon as I was done changing. I had my blacks for today, so I was prepared for view points. I did my warm ups without skipping any. Also I got up several times and did the activity. I really tried to understand what we were doing, and at the end I started to get it. This is why I deserve my 100 for the day.

My day.

Today, I had my new schedule. Spanish 1st period absolutely sucked. The spanish teacher was being annoying and told me maybe I should switch back to my old class. Whatever. 2nd period with Mr.McNamara was fun because I had my good friends in that class. Almost got my phone taken away in lunch by Ms. Alexander. Theatre! Oh man. I had to perform my monologue today and I was incredibly nervous. Although, I thought I did good except for the beginning when I moved the chair before I introduced myself. But, it was a good experience. I'm really starting to get over stage fright and all that, which was surprisingly fast. I love my Norton books! Thanks Ms. Aladren! That book is like my freaking theatre bible. Well, that was pretty much my highlight of my day, because after school, I just came home and went to sleep. Blogging again tomorrow!

My day Thursday

My day pretty much sucked today. I don't realy know why well actually I do. My best friend just fixed this fight with this girl he doesn't even like and acts like they are the best of friends. Right in front of me when he knows I'm mad at him. Oh well, the hilight of my day was not that. It was theatre! So today I went up with 3 other people and did warm ups and stuff to help with visualizing my environment for my monologue and stuff. It really helped actually imagining cars and thingsa go past as I was reading my monologue. Although I didn't really feel the fear of reading it because I was up with 3 other students. But all of the sudden, Phil stops and asks if I'm ready to read it. I say yeah and right off, i started reading it and because of all the warm ups all week, the stress actually went away! Although he said I was tapping my right foot when I didn't all went well. I'm really confident for tomorrow and performing my monologue for real.

My day Wednesday

hmm. What did I do today? I went to the guidance counselor this morning with my dad to see if I could change my schedule. It was a bit of hassle but she said she would try. I was kind of pissed off the rest of the day about it. And it didn't help when my best friend just like didn't care about what was going on. Theatre was fun, as always, Phil is a really great teacher. All of his excersises were very real and they actually worked. I really liked working on vocals with him just stretching the lungs, as I call it, to prepare before a reading or a play. I really think I'll use that in the future. Thanks to Phil, I am really confident about friday.

The Cherry Orchard (10) Tuesday

Tonight, i finished reading The Cherry Orchard. Just a couplke comments on the whole ending thing. You would think if they were leaving it for the last time they would try to get along with everyone but I guess not. I think its kind of funny that they were just like oh yeah, we sent Fiers off. We don't need him anymore. haha. Poor Fiers, I feel really bad for him like through out the whole play. Nobody really notices him at all and just thinks he is a stupid old man with nothing good to say. All he wants is some attention. Also I feel bad Lubov, she really starts taking it hard towards the end of the play, but thats how things usually go. Also, Fiers at the end... was he in the house the whole time? Because it just seems as though he walked out of a room and was like awh they left me. So i'm guessing he died on the couch that day, because it just seems like that's what would happen. Good play. Very, very realistic just by the tones of the voices toward eachother and stuff. It was a little depressing at the end but I still liked it.

The Cherry Orchard (9) Monday

Today I started reading act 4 of The Cherry Orchard, it is the beginning and some people are upset more than others. But on the other hand some are very excited. They are excited to start a new life outside of the old orchard. Lubov is practically appauled by all of this which I can completely understand because that was the house she grew up in and grew in and was raised every inch in. Anya and Peter seem very anxiouys to get out of the house, although Peter keeps fighting with Lopakhin about him not accepting the money that Lopakhin wants to offer to help with his journey.
Personally I would have taken the money, but oh well. I'll read more tomorrow.

The Cherry Orchard (8)

Tonight, I finished reading Act 3 and Oh my goodness. Things are really stirring up now. I thought that Varya came out of nowhere with the whole fight with Epikhodov. Like one second everyone was all happy and friend, well not exactly, but Varya just like had a moment there. I laughed when she was like xhasing him out the door and then she picked up Fiers's stick and tried to like whack him out the door. haha. And then Lopakhin came in and he kind of sounded drunk but like it was kind of funny. I wish Varya would have hurt him with the stick thing. haha. Oh and right when Gaev came in with tears I like knew he didn't buy the Orchard. Like I thought maybe he had tears of joy but no. When Lopakhin said that he had bought it, my mouth dropped, like what a jerk. Like you of all people should know what kind of emotional bridge that family was on and you just broke the bridge and let them fall into the water. He was being all braggy about it too, like "oh now I'm gonna make villas, you should have listened to me blah blah blah." I would have like killed him. I feel so sorry for Lubov, like it made me sad just thinking of her crying in the corner. And you would think that at the end of Act 3, when she was crying, Peter would have some more sympathy. Instead her just stands there. I guess he's just getting her back for earlier. Awe, poor Lubov. Well, I'll read on tomorrow.

The Cherry Orchard (7)

Tonight, I just broke into Act 3. I can tell that everyone is starting to get agitated like really easily. Like Lubov and Peter just keep going at it about how Peter doesn't have a woman, but at least Lubov has a lover in Paris, but he's a nobody. Like it's kind of nonsense to me. haha. And I totally think Lubov meant what she said when she was saying to Peter how he was not above love. But, she can't really say that because aren't Peter and Anya having an affair? And she like even says that he can marry her. Oh wait, I guess what he means by the "above love" part is that they're too in love and too good to get married and show their love. I'll stick with that. I want to know who bought the Orchard! Like of course the guy leaves without saying who bought it. I hope the uncle did because it would be sad to see them all have to leave. I also thought Peter was much older by the way everyone describes him, but in act 3 you find out he's only like 26 or 27. That's not old. haha. I consider Fiers to be old. He's like Grandpa over there trying to be with all the young people. Well, I'll read on soon!

The Cherry Orchard (6) [Thursday]

Tonight, I finished reading Act 2 of The Cherry Orchard. It's really surprising how realistic it seems, like I could imagine this in real life. But Lopakhin does not shut up about the freaking Orchard being sold! Like what a downer to have to be reminded of it all the time, although they are really good at ignoring him. I thought the drunk guy was funny, but I can't believe she gve him the gold! Like how stupid do you have to be! Shouldn't you be saving money for the Orchard, or food because it seems like they are having problems with that too. Haha. I like how Varya got scared over like nothing. Like it was just a drunk dude on his way to the police station. like really. I didn't realize that Peter and Anya were in love! Or to them, more than love. It's so romantic how they practically hide their love from everyone. Especially at the end when they go off for the river to hide. I'm getting into the play now, and I understand the characters a little more. But their names are so crazy! Oh well, I'm learning them. I'll start Act 3 on Monday. :]

The Cherry Orchard (5)

Tonight, I guess I got throught a tiny portion of Act 2 in The Cherry Orchard. Lopakhin keeps ragging on everyone to sell the house and the orchard as a villa. It's really starting to annoy the hell out of me this person. Like if they wanted to do that, they would have said yes already. I don't know why Dunyasha and Yasha like aren't allowed to meet or something..? Well, anyway, I thought the aunt didn't like Gaev, so why would she send money to them. And Gaev is still going on about the loan. Like to me, it seems as if he has A LOT of faith put into this. I have a feeling that it's not going to end the way he wants it to, which will be sad. But then I can say told you so. haha. And back to the villas, I don't really know what villas are. I'll look it up right now, villa- a country residence or estate. Oh never mind, that's what I thought it was. Well if that's a villa what is the orchard and the house now? Wouldn't it be the same thing? Hmm. Well, I think maybe turning it into a villa and making a lot of money off of it, as Lopakhin says, is an actual good idea. It's just annoying that he keeps saying it. Well, I'll read more tomorrow.

P.G. :89

The Cherry Orchard (4) [Tuesday]

Today, I finished with Act one of The Cherry Orchard. I didn't realize it until now that this is an example of a realism play. I feel so stupid. haha. It being realism explains why it is kind of boring so far but I'm starting to get into it. I just wonder if they are going to be able to keep the house. The plan for a loan from Gaev seems like a good plan, but you don't always get the loan. And it seems kind of stupid for him to rely on that plan for saving the Orchard when you can't even be sure you're getting the loan. I guess I answered my question from my last post about the 240 roubles being a joke. That I thought was a little mean to just be like oh yeah sure he'll give you the money. Pischin seems like she really needs it too. Oh well, I guess she's going to have some problems when the rent or interest is do. It's kind of weird that everyone was up so late, like that's really late, for realism anyways. I can understand how Anya is like half-dead, I would be too if I was up for that long. haha. Well, anyway, I'm starting to get the vibe of this play. I really want to know if they can save the Orchard. Well, I'll just have to keep reading.

The Cherry Orchard (3)

Tonight, I continued reading The Cherry Orchard. I didn't read that much, but for me, it's just so hard to get through. Well, it's not that hard it's just a little confusing. I started from when all of the characters were talking about villas and stuff, and how they'll be everywhere. Then Pischin keeps bothering everyone for 240 roubles. But, it seems very obvious that everyone so far in this play is very low on money. Then the sun starts to rise, and they realize that they've been up for a while. But suddenly Lubov's son, Peter, comes in and they start crying together about how Peter looks really old and decayed. Then Pischin is still asking about the money so Lubov tells Gaev to do it and I'm not sure if that was sarcastic or if Lubov was actually serious. If she wasn't that's pretty funny but kind of mean to Pischin. haha. So, I'll continue with my reading tomorrow.

The Cherry Orchard (2) [Thurday]

Well, I continued read the cherry orchard. It's still kind of blah. Like Lopakhin is explaining of how to make money out of the house and the orchard by knocking it down and what not. No one really seemed to happy with the idea so I wonder what will happen with that. And Fiers starts talking about the dried cherries and how they used to make money off of making jam and jelly. But, it seems like he doesn't remember too much about it. Lopakhin is also talking about villas and how they will be everywhere soon. I'm also guessing the Dunyasha is like the maid or something because the way Fiers was like get me my cream, it's just rude. So, yeah. Gotta Read more.

The Cherry Orchard (1) [Wednesday]

Alright, so I started reading The Cherry Orchard. It's kind of boring so far, like Epikhodov proposed to Dunyasha, but no one seems to really care. And the other people have just come in from vacation I guess. There's notmuch going on. Anya keeps talking about Paris and how it was snowing and stuff there. Then she's mad because I guess that the house that they're in is being sold in August. Lopakihn was also explaining the story of when he was getting hit by his father, and he was all bloody and stuff. The play seems like it could be interesting, but I just have to get in the zone of it. Back to how no one cares about the proposal, I thought it was kind of funny how Anya just ignored her and was like oooo my old room. haha. Well, yeah, I'll get more into it as I read it.

Six Characters in Search of an Author (7) [Tuesday]

Today, I finished reading six characters. The ending, is absolutely depressing. Well, everything just happened so fast. Like, I had no idea that that was even possible. I'm guessing the little boy killed himself, which how did he even get the gun? I'm confused about the little girl... Did she like die in the fountain? Or was that part pretend? Urgh. This play, was incredibly crazy. It jumps from one thing to the next. So I guess, that those characters really were in reality. And the manager, like what the hell is your problem? The little kid is dead and all you can think about is how you wasted the day. Psh. I feel so bad for the Mother. What she went through through this whole play is just horrible. Like, cut her some slack. Well, in the end, I actually really enjoyed the play, especially the ending. On to the next!

Six Characters in Search of an Author (6)

Tonight, I continued reading Six Characters. I understand it now, although I didn't read to much because I really like it so I don't want to finish it just yet. I just read past the part where the father is telling the manager about being more real than him and how he needs to let them act out the scenes because if he doesn't it is just suppresing him. Then, now, I am up to where they are setting up the garden scene and they are trying to put all of the scenes together to run smoothly. They are rehearsing the little kids and then the son id about to leave but the manager stops him. thats all i read up to tonight. I'll most likely be done very very soon.

Six Characters in Search of an Author (5)

Today, I continued reading Six Characters. I'm really starting to get the hang of this play, even though it took me three acts to actually get it. So, one question that has been bothering me is, wait, I understand that the characters need an author to finish their story but why won't they just shut the hell up and do what the Manager tells them to. I mean really, if you were really so eager to finish your story why would you delay it by fighting with the Manager. Well, anyways, what happened between the Step-Daughter and the Father? Did they have an affair or what? I think they did. And, I guess, that the Mother knows and she is just so mortified by it that she crys constantly during the setup of this play. I don't even really know what the point of the Mother is, she wasn't really needed through the whole thing. She was just kind of... there. Right now I am at the point of the Father fighting with the Manager and the Actors because they called the six characters reality an illusion and the Manager is starting to figure out that they are more real then he will ever be. Well, almost done, can't wait to see how it ends!

Six Characters in Search of an Author (4)

Alright, I think I can say for sure now that I understand what is going on. The six characters are acting out what happened with the last author who tried to make the play, but he decided not to put it on stage. So, the six characters went searching for another author to finish their story so they all may live for eternity. As explained to me today by my theatre teacher. Thank God. Well, so far the Manager has the characters acting out the scenes of has already happened and the Manager is having the prompter copying down key points of what is happening. Oh and why isn't the play named seven characters in search of an author because there is also Madame Pace...? Well, anyways I also think the Manager should just let the characters perform the real, whole, truth instead of fighting with the Step-daughter about how she should change the scene with the Father. And the question of the day for me is, why is the Mother freaking out about Madame Pace when they are just continuing on of what they already have. Ugh. Whatever, I'll be finished soon so I'll just have to be patient.

Six Characters in Search of an Author (3)

Well, I'm understanding it now. Maybe, Kind of, I'm not sure. I'm guessing that the characters are telling a real life story because it seems like there is some tension between the characters. Also the actors seem to be very angry, like why though? The show the characters put on seemed like it would be a very good play. I think the actors are just jealous that the characters upstaged them. Also, why did the boy have a gun? Was he actually going to kill himself? So many questions. Well, anyway I'm up to the part where they are setting up the stage and the MANAGER is telling the PROMPTER to copy the scenes short hand. Well I still need to read more to figure things out.

John- Back to EARTH! It's Meagan flipping Fox Craig. Deep breaths, deep breaths, I can fix this. It'll all be okay.
Craig- F-F-Fix this? What do you mean by that? We all have our own opinions you know.
John- Hmmm... I will fix this by showing you Meagan Fox.
Craig- I have seen her for your information.
John- Not just one picture! A freakin' collage!!!
Craig- A collage? Even you don't have time for that.
John- Or do I? Hahaha. What if it's already done? What if it's right here, on my computer, just waiting for you. Yes, Meagan Fox is waiting for you.
Craig- When did you make this? Or I should say how did you make this?
John- Oh I just used Microsoft Word, it was pretty simple.
Craig- Oh that makes sense, you know the new Microsofts are really fantastic.
John- Yes, yes they are.
John- Alright so back to the Collage!
Craig- Yeah I'm going to have to skip out on the whole "Watching the collage" thing.
John- Oh no, no you won't, you're staying right here.
Craig- Make m---
(John knocks Craig unconscious)
Craig- W-W-What happened? Oh my God! The collage! It's so vivid!! It burns my eyes! Ahhhhhhhh. Owwwww. Whoa whoa whoa, Meagan looks good there.
John- I told you so.

The End.

Six Characters in Search of an Author (2)

Alright, so today I continued with my reading of Six Characters in Search of an Author. I'm starting to understand it more, but I am still having trouble, and apparently so is the [MANAGER] haha. I have read so far that the [FATHER] marries the [MOTHER] just because he has pity for her and then he feels like she is boring so she sends her off with the other man he originally sent away so that he could marry her. One thing is that I'm not sure who's step-daughter that is. OH! alright now that I wrote it I understand. Also I read the part where the [FATHER] goes to see the [DAUGHTER] after she gets out of school. That's kind of creepy to me, even if he is her father. The part I am up to currently is where the [FATHER] and the [SON] are literally fighting over how it made him feel horrible that they came to ask to stay with him... I think? Now one of the problems I am having is that I am so confused over which parts are the acting scenes and which aren't because through the whole thing, they are talking to the [MANAGER]. Well, I am hoping I will figure it out because as I keep reading I start to understand more. Wish me luck! ;]

Six Characters in Search of an Author (1)

Alright, so today I started reading six characters in search of an author. So far, I think this play is confusing as anything! Like I mean I kind of understand but not really. I am only up to the part where the characters are asking the manager to be an author for them so I am not totally filled out on anything yet. I guess what the [FATHER] is trying to get the [MANAGER] is that the six characters are in need of a great author who will let them be free and do what they love in a brand new play. I'm not really sure why the [MOTHER] is acting all scared and hiding her face and stuff but I guess i'll figure it out. Also, I think it is just so rude that the actors and actresses are laughing at the six characters, like you would think that the actual actors and actresses would understand where they are coming from. So, yeah, gotta read more.

Response Monologue

I should get that stuff to make my non existent jeans to glow in the dark. Wait, you think that's stupid? Oh yeah, well, when my jeans are guiding us through that lonely dark alley way one night because of that glow stuff, you'll realize that my idea is majorly triumphant over your little flashlight. I mean glow in the dark jeans? For the win alright. You know what? You're just jealous that I came up with this revolutionary idea while your still stuck in the past. Oh yeah, I went there. And maybe, just maybe if you had a mind of a genius, like moi, you would understand the fantastic wonder of my dark-killing jeans. Period.

My Day (2)

Today was better than yesterday. Well not academic wise, because I got so much homework today I can't even breath, but what can you do. Well, other than that I pretty much planned out my weekend. So far I'm going to see Jennifer's Body and to go hang out with my mom a bit. :] Wow, I'm stuffed, I just ate a bag of cheese doodles. Yum. Oh and the friends I was talking about yesterday apologized big time, and that made me feel a little better about that situation. But, I'm gonna make them work to get my trust back. And I babysat my sister tonight, ugh, she is just so annoying. It's like she doesn't even have to say anything. haha. Uhm super tired, and I am so ready for that test tomorrow! I've been like studying all night for it and I know its gonna pay off. My dad wants me to join the math team, but I really don't want to, it just seems like it takes up so much time. :/ So anyway, I had to go for bloodwork too. I hate needles, I felt like a little kid when I looked away when she put the needle in. It barely hurt though, except when it came out. I hate that feeling of internal pain. It's like I can't get to it. So yeah, that was my day.

My Day

Today, was a half day at school. Although it seemed to go by way longer than an actual day at school. My science teacher made us watch those stupid chemistry videos again, but I don't know why we are watching them because we don't take chemistry until like junior year. Health is kind of annoying, there are so many kids in that class you can barely breath. I have a chapter test in history Thursday which I am totally not ready for. Well, maybe I am, but still, those outlines she makes us do take forever. After school, I planned to hang out with my so called "friends" but, they decided to go behind my back and hang out with the kids that I can't stand. I wouldn't usually care, but they had already told me they were going to hang out with me. Sometimes people are just jerks. Oh well, parents night at school went alright, except me and some other kids changed the schedule around, haha. Yeah, so that was my day.

A Doll House (3)

Tonight, I have finished reading "A Doll House". I am totally surprised!!! First of all, I didn't think Mrs. Linde would have the heart to actually leave the letter in the mailbox, that caught me off guard. Also, I am kind of surprised that Krogstad took back Mrs. Linde so willingly, but I guess that's love. And I was so scared when Torvald read the letter, I was like oh crap. At first I was really pissed off that Torvald reacted like that, I also felt really bad for Nora (the way he was screaming at her, and telling her she couldn't raise the children.) To be honest, I completely fell in love with Nora at the end. I thought the way she stood up for herself was so amazing and very in control of herself. But, at the same time I was completely caught off guard!!! That is not at all how I expected the story to end! It was weird actually reading a story that didn't end happy for every one. In the end, I really enjoyed reading this play, and I understand what everyone was saying about everything twisting in the end. Oh! And I understand the meaning of the title now. :]

A Doll House (2)

Tonight, I have finished reading Act 1 and Act 2 of "A Doll House". So far, since my last post, I have actually started to have sympathy for Nora, and I understand why she is lying and what she is trying to do. Personally, I think Nora should go to Torvald and tell him straight up what is happening with the loan from Mr. Krogstad and the name forgery. Also when I found out that Dr. Rank loves Nora I was really surprised! At the beginning of the play it didn't seem like they had anything between them, but i guess I was wrong. I still really like Mrs. Linde because she is so helpful trying to cover up for Nora even though she doesn't really know what's going on. And I don't really understand what Nora is talking about with the whole miracle thing, like really, she is such a mystery to me. But, it was kind of mean how she is staying away from her children so long, and I hope she doesn't leave them just because of Mr. Krogstad. I guess I'll just have to finish reading.

A Doll House (1)

Today, I started reading "A Doll House". So far, I find this play very interesting. Nora, to me, is kind of annoying in the way that she lies around her husband and around Mrs. Linde. Oh and another thing is that I don't understand how Nora got the money for the trip to Italy. I know she says she borrowed it, but I just don't get from where. And I don't like how Nora is acting all care free about money like it grows on trees or something, but I guess that's how a melodrama sets up. So far, I really like Mrs. Linde because she seems like the only one that understands reality and that has been through an actual tough time. Krogstad seems very mysterious and it feels to me like he's up to no good. Right now I have gotten up to the part where Nora is telling Torvald that Mrs. Linde is her to talk to him. I wonder what will happen next...

Theater Debate

Today in school, we had a debate in theater. The first question was "Should art always show the good being triumphant?" Before the debate my answer was no. It was no because I believe that art should always show the other side of the story, the evil. After the debate, I thought a lot about whether or not I should change my side. In the end, I stick with my decision because I think there is no good without evil, so, evil should be credited sometimes. And plus, when evil is credited, it will be surprising and satisfying. The second question that we debated was "Should art always follow the truth despite public opinion?" For this question I sided with the yes. Before the debate I said that art should always follow the truth because who knows how the public will react, whether rioting or applauding, they will eventually come around. And to back this, Ibsen proved this when he created "A Doll House" back in the 1850's because this was the stepping stone from romanticism to realism in theater history. Sure, the crowd did not react in favor of the play at first, but after years of reviewing it, the people started to understand where Ibsen was coming from. And today, we should still show the truth no matter how it will effect the public because who knows, it could lead us into the new era of theater history. Even after the debate, I still stick with the facts I have presented.
