Today we did basically the same exact thing on Monday, review the script, goals, objectives all that good stuff. Ran through lines. Memorized them better. I'm really trying to just be really off book and to have the words flowing and i think i'm almost there. =)

Today Louis wasn't here so we worked on our second drafts for our analysis. I worked with most of what I had seeing that I didn't have internet to research more trst draft. I just basically worked on the intro and conclusion, because that's all I could really do. But I think its coming along nicely. But then again, I'm only a freshman.

Today we practiced in the small gym for our freshman showcase. Our director was not with us for a good part of the 2 periods so we ran lines over and over. I was like amazingly surprised when I knew all my lines. Cypi and Emily were kind of having a hard time with it but it was probably just because it has been like 3 weeks. And then we watched a part of Katelin's show and Louis was giving feedback.

Today we actually got to act!!!!!!!!! It was a really nice change of pace. I love working with Louis and doing repetition. Especially with Kelsey because she makes me laugh too much and I can't follow repetition. haha. We also watched the beginning of Dan's piece and also Emily's piece. Emily's seems to be coming along better but thats just my opinion. Can't wait for Monday because apparently our freshmen showcase is back on!!!!!!! =)

Today we finally got our outlines back from javier so we could work on our drafts. I had already done some at home though so it wasn't that hard. Michelle helped me out with somethings on my paper too. I have most of it done but I will finish it tomorrow in class.

Today we teched again for Ms. macs dance show. I hung lights with Abbi for a period. She wasn't strong enough to hold the lights so I had to but they were kind of heavy and she took forever to tighten it on to the tree. it's okay though because it's fun working with Abbi. A lot of fun.

Today we were teching for the National Technical Honors Society. I just pretty much spent the time by sweeping the stage, and taping left over wood together to put into the pit. Taping the wood together took both periods. It would've went faster if Abbi wasn't so afraid of the spiders crawling around. I even scared her like there was one, but there wasn't. haha.

Today I could not really start my first rough draft due friday. Since Aladren had not given them back to javier for us to use. I basically spent the periods just brain storming on a new acting out line to use. I used the same actors as I did for the first outline. Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford, and Jason Robards.

Today we worked on our outlines again. I was torn between an analysis on themes or one on acting. So i wrote two out lines to see which on came out better, and which one I could write more on. I worked with Javier to get the best out of both of them. And Katelin recommended that I do the one on the acting because it was more aquainted with the story where as the themes one was more to the Watergate scandal instead of the movie.

Today was a half a day. So there wasn't really much we could get into. But we basically just worked on our outlines for our film analysis. My outline and analysis is going to be on themes presented in the film. And I'll be supporting it with certain scenes from the movie. And I actually finished it today. I will hand it in tomorrow.

Today we learned about film in the 1970's. We learned that the beginning of the 1970's started out with Hollywood being in a financial and artistic depression. But however it became a creative high point in the U.S. Also restrictions in films loosened up like violence and adult content. Also the old studio system began to collapse, so mostly what was done in film before the 1970's kind of just faded.This pretty much gave way to the Hollywood new wave.

Today we didn't really get to do much in theatre. We all had to take that end of the marking period exam for next year. It was two test; the math and the english. Math was pretty hard but I got a pretty decent score. English wasn't that hard but it was lower than the math. And this basically filled up both periods of theatre class.

Today in theatre we were supposed to watch All The President's Men, but unfortunately it was not brought in. So we spent some time learning about what happened before this movie occurred. The largest event before this movie was the Watergate Scandal when Nixon sent people to the Watergate Hotel to try and spy on the other party by planting listening devices. But the ones who were sent were caught, and Nixon was accused of doing it. Of course he denied. And I'm pretty sure now this is where the movie takes place. But since we didn't get to watch any of the movie, I'm really not that sure. So we started watching Catch Me If You Can to try and get the basics of doing a movie analysis. I learned to try and ask as many questions as possible and stay lookout for every little detail, even the opening credits. And to make note of certain words or phrases constantly repeated.

So today we began talking about film history. I have to say that the one thing I've always wanted to be was a film actor. It seems like a lot of people assume when little kids say they want to be a film actor, they don't understand that its actual work. I think I kind of always did. And I always had that other thought that of course I'd be willing to work because its something I love doing. So as of today we talked about film history. Some of the things we talked about was about how old movies can force us to realize that movies can be radically different from what we are used to now. Also we talked about who film historians are and what they do.
