Tonight, I have finished reading scene 9 of streetcar. It is a very unclear scene and it starts by Mitch showing up to see Blanche while I guess that Stella and Stanley are still at the hospital. Mitch comes in, and hes had a few drinks and hes in an obvious bad mood. Blanche is pretty much playing stupid and trying to figure out what is wrong with Mitch, but I think she knows. She offers a drink to him to get him comfortable and maybe chill a little bit, but he refuses because he knows it's Stanley's liquor. From this point on he begins to tell her what he has found out about her from Stanley and two other guys. She doesn't seem to be too shocked and she practically admits it, but she does it in a very convincing way of like please don't leave me. And then, for the rest of this scene I do not understand because she starts ranting on and on about random events in her life, and it just makes no sense to me. But at the end, Mitch comes to her and she pretty much asks him to marry her and he said shes not clean enough to be in his house with his mother. So she gets enraged and tells him to just leave then. I don't know why he just stands there, like if you don't like her, and you don't want to marry her, why are you still standing next to her. And to get him to leave she starts screaming fire, and the scene ends. I'll finish streetcar tomorrow night.
