Tonight, I have finished reading scene 8 of streetcar. Not much happens in this scene. Stella is depressed from what she has heard from Stanley, I think Stanley just can't wait until Blanche leaves. Blanche knows something is wrong, but she puts on a fake smile and pretends as if it is nothing. She tries to tell a story to get everyone laughing but it doesn't work at all. Stella asks Stanley to help her clear the table, and Stanley pretty much flips and smashes his plate and cup on the floor. And because Mitch did not show up, Blanche calls him but there is no answer. After this Stanley comes and gives Blanche a ticket to leave on Tuesday to go back to Laurel. I personally really think that is a bit harsh, but at the same time not. I think Blanche really needs to get out of there, for her own sake, Stella's, and Stanley's. But I think given her past in Laurel, Stanley should have gotten her a ticket somewhere else for a fresh, fresh start. And this scene ends with Stella telling Stanley to take her to the hospital, so we can assume she is having her baby. Well, I'll continue on.
